K-Swap Journey: From Civic to Motorcycle Passion

As I approach the final stretch of my K-swap, I’ve taken a moment to reflect on why this project has taken so much time. It’s been nearly two years since I last drove my Civic, and during that time, I’ve felt myself gradually losing touch with cars. Motorcycling has completely taken over my life in ways I never expected.

After I got my brother’s FZ-09 in May of 2014, my passion for riding really began to take off. By April of 2016—almost exactly two years later—I found myself fully immersed, inspiring friends to pick up motorcycling or dive deeper into it alongside me. That journey has been incredible, but it’s also a big reason why the Civic project has taken a back seat for so long.

In 2016, I bought an R1M with the intention of getting into motorcycle track days, and it completely changed my priorities. I caught the track day bug hard, and from that point on, every bit of extra money went into pursuing that passion. Unfortunately, that meant the K-swap fund dried up entirely—zero dollars for the swap, all in for motorcycle track days.

I don’t want to ramble too much, so I’ll skip the details and get right to the Civic update.

As the Civic sits today, it’s almost there. All it needs now is a wiring harness, KPro, exhaust, and a primary O2 sensor. My goal is to have it ready in time for the Porsche Club track day in March.

Once the Civic is fully up and running, I’ll put together a complete write-up to share the entire journey. For now, I hope you enjoy these amazing photos Ever captured of my long-neglected project.
