SOLD

As many of you know, I recently purchased a 2021 Civic Type R. Because of this acquisition the number of civics I now own, outnumber the spaces I have to store them. The Type R now brings my total civic count to 4. With Angie’s fit that makes 5 vehicles that I need to have space for. And that is not including the two motorcycles I have. The HOA is not okay with parking cars on the street, nor do I think it is a safe move to have my cars on the street. Reluctantly and with a heavy heart I am going to have to part ways with one of them.

I have decided to part ways with my EK sedan. It is not without much hesitation and an incredible amount of difficulty to arrive at this conclusion. For me, it’s literally the same as trying to decide which kid I was going to throw to the wolves to save the rest of the family.  If you know me, then you know how much I LOVE all my cars and how they are each special to me in their own ways… Hence why I now currently own 4 Civics.

I am not giving you this sad, heartfelt backstory to lube you up for an over inflated price. I feel the price I’m listing it for is very reasonable considering the number of things that are done to the car and I am in know way going to be selling anyone a lemon. The best way to share with everyone the amount of work and detail that went into building this car to what it is today, is by creating a blog post so that I can put a link for every part installed in the car. The engine build/refresh detail, and the thoroughness and meticulousness in which the car was built.

This car should be purchased by someone that is truly a track enthusiast or plans on having a dedicated track car. This car should not be purchased by someone that is looking for a show car or someone looking for a “fast” car. This car is a 4 door with full interior and just a B16a. This car will not beat any of your friends cars in the quarter mile or the freeway. This car doesn’t have anti lag and wont win any “two step” contests. It can however, (with a good driver) beat many cars around a circuit/track.

If you really are interested in possibly purchasing this car, I highly suggest you click on all the links posted above just so you can get an idea of the meticulousness of everything I do. There are a few things that I didn’t do write ups on. You might also notice that in some of the earlier stages of its life there were different parts on it. For instance NSX calipers, Kosei K1’s, a hybrid shifter and more obviously a D16y8. Please refer to the parts list on the top of the post to know exactly what’s currently installed on the car.

I say that mileage is not really relevant only because literally have replaced everything except for the steering rack and some interior pieces (seats and dash). IIRC the chassis mileage is around 200K. The car still aligns perfectly straight, there are no bent parts of the chassis. No stripped out chassis bolt holes. No stripped out anything else on any part of the car.

Not one motor issue, no smoke, no oil consumption. Not one transmission issue, no grinds, no pop outs, lock outs, nothing. Brakes are phenomenal, as they should be. R999 pads are very dusty and very noisy though. Of course you can drive it, of course you can compression test it. If you’re really interested you can do whatever you want to help make your decision (within reason)

Please don’t waste my time asking me a bunch of questions that could have been answered by reading this post or clicking on any of the links posted above. Honestly, if you are serious, just get a hold of me and we can meet in person so you can ask what ever you want. I’m being super transparent about everything and I have nothing to hide.

I’m asking $$__6,000__$$. IF, you are interested please reach out to me, via email, Billy@Functiontheory.com, Instagram @Functiontheory, or just simply comment below. Once the car is sold I will change the title of this post to “Sold.” So if the title still says “For Sale” then it is in fact still for sale. I’m located in Las Vegas NV. However, the car is totally capable of driving anywhere in the country. So if you live in another state and want to drive it back home, the car will have no issue doing that.

Please help me get this sold by sharing with as many people as possible. please repost, tag, anything!

  1. Hello friend, nice to read to you again, what about the EG with DC5 K20 Type R motor? don’t you have it for sale?

    1. If the price was right I would maybe sell it. I do have enough space to store this one so I’m not actively trying to sell.

  2. Hello. Too bad, I live on the east coast. I’d probably snag this EK off ya. I know what having 4 cars. Currently have 4 ourselves. I had a question about the brake setup on the EK sedan? Could I do that same setup on my DC2 Integra?
CANt wait to see what you bring in the future. Good luck with the sale. Mike from Amish Country lol.
